**This itinerary is quite different from previous Canyonland tours and offers many new aspects
The itinerary has huge popularity with Kiwis, spending 25 days exploring a broad area of the American Southwest – visiting the deserts and red-rock landscapes of southern Arizona, the spectacular canyon and mesa lands of Utah – and finally the fertile orchard and farmlands of southern California. The tour is scheduled to coincide with autumn in the USA southwest so tour members can enjoy beautiful settled weather and moderate temperatures at a quieter time of the year during their explorations.
Features include: Visits to The Sonora Desert Museum (humming bird and butterfly enclosures and desert habitats for mountain lions, javelina, wolves and coyotes); walks in the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley – plus Joshua Tree, Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion National Parks. Tour members will also encounter a multitude of wildlife while on tour – from the tiny “critters” like squirrels and chipmunks, through to the larger animals such as coyote, deer, elk and pronghorn antelope.

We would like to thank you for yet another wonderful Wild Quest trip. New England is an area we have been wanting to visit for some time and when we saw you were doing it this year, it was an opportunity to good to miss. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. It was great catching up with you again and of course meeting Yahong. The both of you make an excellent team. We were so lucky with the weather on the trip and the autumn colours were just glorious. People also make for a good time and we were fortunate to have great travelling companions." New England Autumn Walks 2014.

"I am gradually settling back to reality, but my body clock is still wanting to get me to bed at 8.30pm and awake at 4am! I think for the first 3 days I was on a high, and I didn’t stop talking about the trip, and how wonderful everything was. I am sorry I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to you both at the airport, as I wanted to say how much I appreciated all your care and organisation of the tour. I was truly blown away by how lovely you were to me, especially you, Yahong. I still owe you about 2400 hugs for the photos, so I’m going to have to do a lot more trips!.” USA Western Wildflowers 2014Barbara Bailey .Auckland
"I saw the Wild Quest ad in the paper and looked up the web site and saw there were 2 trips advertised for this year. The one that appealed to me most was the desert and wild flowers one but I was unsure whether at 72 I was too old and unfit to do it. Then I looked at the photos on the website and thought the people in the photos looked about my age and were enjoying themselves and the scenery was great so I signed on and started walking more and doing some steep hills. So I was quite fit enough and really enjoyed the trip. We were well looked after, there were plenty of breaks, good accommodation and nice food so thanks a lot to you both. I’m now wondering about the Canada trip! :USA Western Wildflowers 2014
