The first Pursuit in Paradise Aitutaki Marathon was held on the beautiful island of Aitutaki, Cook Islands. Aitutaki Marathon 2018 winner Cook Islander Kelly Pick was first across the line for the full marathon (42.2km) with a time of 3:36:37

The successful event spanned over 5 days and ran to international guidelines with runners from all parts of the world such as Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, Italy, Austria, United States, New Zealand and Australia as well as local Cook Island runners.

The Aitutaki Marathon will run annually and has become an iconic event for marathon junkies and runners from around the world as well as local runners.

Participants in the Aitutaki Marathon 2018 included marathon world record holder Brent Weigner, which marked the 156th country in which he has run in a marathon and his 325th marathon overall.
