Set on stunning paradise island, Aitutaki – the BSP Aitutaki Marathon ‘Pursuit in Paradise’ event offers three race courses that criss-crosses the tiny island with each step revealing the natural beauty of Aitutaki.

Runners/walkers can choose from the 10km course, half marathon 21.1Km course and the full 42.2km marathon course.  The 2025 BSP Aitutaki Marathon Pursuit in Paradise will be run from

Sunday 26th April to Thursday 30 April 2026.

2026 will mark the 9th running of this increasingly popular event hosted by Turama Pacific Travel Group’s event management department Destination Management Cook Islands (DMCK).

The paradise island event is now growing a reputation on the international marathon scene as a must do event for runners and supporters looking for a unique paradise experience!

SUNDAY 26 APRIL   

WELCOME DINNER & RACE BRIEFING
There will be a full race briefing today at 5.30pm and the final opportunity for race registrations to be completed.
A welcome dinner for all runners and supporters will follow the race briefing.

MONDAY 27 APRIL
RACE ORIENTATION DAY
Today is an opportunity for runners to explore the island and familiarize themselves with the race course.

TUESDAY 28 APRIL
RACE DAY
All 3 race distances will have a staggered start from Ootu point.
The full marathon 42.2km race starts at 5.30am, then its a 6.30am start for those in the 21.1km race before
the 10km race starts at 7.30am. Complimentary transfers will be available to pick participants in the morning
to get you to the start line before your race. Race numbers will be in your race packs and given to you on
your arrival to Rarotonga. At the finishing of the race, there will be complementary coconut juice, water
and tropical fruit for all runners and supporters

WEDNESDAY 29 APRIL
LAGOON CRUISE / AWARDS AND PRIZEGIVING NIGHT
What better way to recover from the previous days running than a day out on the stunning
Aitutaki Lagoon. For many years our people have sat and soaked in the waters of Aitutaki
Lagoon as a way of easing the aches and pains in our muscles and joints . The Official
Prize Giving, Dinner and Entertainment will begin at 6pm.

THURSDAY 30 APRIL
RUNWAY 5KM FUN RUN
Run will start at 5pm (after all planes have left) heading south to the end of the
runway and back. Afterwards those inclined are invited back to the Aitutaki
Golf Club for a couple of cold ones.
