A fabulous week for bike enthusiasts and lovers of outdoor adventures on the World’s largest raised coral atoll. We’ll be biking, and adventuring our way round this Pacific paradise enjoying all the ‘Rock’ can offer on a bike. You’ll love it!!
The highlight of course will be RALLY THE ROCK – 5 race stages throughout the islands network of trails, riders departing at 1 minute intervals at each stage. The popular ROUND THE ROCK- a 60km sprint round the island will feature again, along with a few fun bike challenge events. A BIKE ROGAINE is being introduced and try your luck on our 1km speed circuit as part of our fun TIME TRIAL. Something fun, friendly and totally unique to Niue.

Saturday 01 June
Depart Auckland on Air New Zealand 9:05am arriving Friday 31 May 2.30pm (over date line) Flight is approx. 3 hours 30 minutes.
Friday 31 May
Arrival at Niue. Meet, greet transfer to apartments, settle in and unpack bikes. Evening Welcome BBQ meal provided by Niue Tourism.
Saturday 01 June
After Breakfast we take you on a guided Orientation Tour for the morning. Get a feel for the layout of the Island, where to find all the key services, good cafes, learn some history and acclimatize to the warmth. We’ll check the tides for this afternoons sea track visits and go exploring on our bikes.
This evening we dine at the Matavai Resort and enjoy sunset drinks and evening sea views from the expansive deck.
Sunday 02 June
Rest Day in Niue. Most locals will attend church and you are welcome to visit one close by at Avatele. The singing is uplifting and services very spiritual. Ladies proudly wear their locally woven hats and it is part of the church attire for ladies 18yrs and over.
We’ll pack a lunch and ride to the top of the island, stopping at one or 2 sea tracks on the way. We leave our bikes overnight in the hall at Mutalau ready for the Bike Rally start early Monday morning. A drive back and time for a swim and relax before BBQ dinner.
Monday 03 June (Kings Birthday Holiday)
6:00am Up early for the drive to the top of the island.
7:00am check in. Bike prep, numbering, Welcome and Race Briefing
8:00am Rally stage 1 start
1:00pm Rally final stage complete
Racers move to the Washaway for an afternoon swim, dinner and awards celebrations. Washaway café is a very laid back atmosphere for burgers, panini, fish meal or pizza and a stunning spot to enjoy a cold drink on the afternoon deck. Possibly the last self-service honesty bar in the world!
Tuesday 04 June
After breakfast and a packed lunch we will head out for a morning ride, coffee and a new sea track.
After lunch a 1km Time Trial is on offer. Part of the Islands bike tracks will become our loop track against the clock. Departures at 1min intervals. If you think you can beat your time you may loop again but forfeit your previous time. Maximum 3 attempts.
Others might take the opportunity to book one of the Islands fantastic boat trips or tours.
Wednesday 05 June
After breakfast and lunch packing, we roll out into town for the start of the Round the Rock Bike Race. Start/Finish outside the Visitors Information Office in the center of town. 64kms of ring road, much of it familiar by now. Bragging rights are up for grabs!
Thursday 06 June
A free morning to take the opportunity for Island boat trips or tours.
This afternoon is a Bike Rogaine in and around Alofi township. With map in hand there is 1 ½ hours to collect as many checkpoints as possible. Individual or team up!
This evening after dinner we plan a night ride (bring your lights) and an introduction to Niue’s Dark Sky attributes.
Friday 07 June
Pack bikes and gear again.
Check in for this afternoons flight, grab your boarding pass and we’ll head back into town for a café fix and early lunch. Fill the van with gas and head back to the airport by Midday.
